SHAKE IT OFF

Every one of us in life will have time when we will be criticized. We will have people who will always find ways to put us down. But you don’t need to take it personally, because the fault is not from you, but from them.

Most times we get criticized when we get a victory, or a promotion, or an award etc. But to be our best we need to know how to deal with these people. We all have victories in us, but often times we can’t tap into it because we let our opposition get the best of us. You try to pay them back for the lies they told about you, the evil things they said you did that you didn’t do, you feel if you don’t stop them they’ll just continue bad mouthing you.  But the problem with that is you can’t stop criticism.

The way you overcome is not to become revengeful, it’s not talk bad about them… the best thing to do is let it go. Jesus told His disciples, when you go into town, any house that does not take you in, when you leave that place, shake the dust off. Don’t take it home with you. To have the victory you deserve, you need to shake the criticism off.

Some people go around pleasing everyone because they don’t want to be criticized, but the truth about that is it’s impossible. Not everyone is going to like you, not everyone is going to accept you, and you certainly cannot keep everyone happy. I know we should be kind, we should be loving. But don’t spend all your time trying to please someone that is impossible to please. Life is too short to try to make that kind of people happy. People like that- it’s much better to love them from a distance. Because their words can be poisonous. Don’t give ears to their poisonous words, so it won’t affect you emotionally. It’s a lot easier to shake things off when we don’t know all the details.

When you give your time and energy to figure out why they do the things they do, you’ll end up emotionally drained, and incapable of relating with the people around you properly.
I’ve realized that not everybody will understand me, nor like me. But if I stay focus on what God’s called me to do, He’ll take care of the critics. Jesus was criticized for being friends with the tax collector, and for healing on the sabbath day. But He didn’t take their opinions into consideration, rather He remained focus on God and what He was sent to do, and God led Him through it all to His destiny.
